Ilkaa's Fine Art Gallery & Atelier Opens in Historic Olde Towne East
New Columbus gallery brings museum-caliber fine art photography to the Joseph-Cherrington House.
COLUMBUS, OH — April 7, 2026
Ilkaa's Fine Art Gallery & Atelier will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 785 East Broad Street in the historic Joseph-Cherrington House. The gallery introduces a more intimate, design-conscious setting for experiencing fine art photography in Columbus.
Founded in 2023 by curator Ilkaa Amalia and photographer Millie Franz, the gallery began on East Main Street before acquiring the historic Joseph-Cherrington House as its permanent home. Renovated in collaboration with Matluc Services, the space preserves the character of the historic building while creating a setting designed for viewing museum-quality photography.
“We wanted to create a space where photography could be experienced with the depth, care, and presence it deserves,” said Millie Franz, co-founder and resident photographer. “This gallery is about creating a deeper encounter with the work and giving people the opportunity to experience it in a more intimate, intentional way.”
The gallery presents a curated roster of internationally respected photographers. The collection emphasizes museum-grade photographic artwork, ranging from large- and medium-format film photography to one-of-a-kind works and limited editions.
Featured artists include Kim Weston, Roman Loranc, Cristina Mittermeier, Mark Arbeit, Azita Gandjei, and Zach Weston.
Through its From the Archive collection, the gallery will present rare works drawn from the Weston family archive, extending a photographic lineage that traces back to the legendary Edward Weston.
The Grand Opening celebration on May 16 is open to the public and will mark the gallery’s official debut in its new home.
